Interview with (Ariel) Rita Tamblyn (nee Pascoe)

 

Rita came to Boulder when 6 and spent most of her life there. A talented pianist who was often an accompanist for visiting artists and taught piano. Discusses early days in Boulder, the visiting entertainers such as Joan Sutherland, Madame Melba, John Lemmone, Gladys Campbell. She often played with guests on the ABC radio. During the Second World War the RAAF men guarding the emergency petrol supplies joined her choir which performed in the Kalgoorlie Town Hall. She was accepted to receive a British Empire Medal for her contribution to the Community in September 1980 but she had recently passed away, so it was not awarded to her.
